I m sorry for my last post I had not set the nohz=off parameter while booting
correctly,
This time however I set it permanently it by editing the
/boot/grub/menu.lst file and decided to observe for a couple of days
before giving my feed back, and based on my observation over the past
I tried booting with the nohz=off setting and this is what I observed,
Initially after logging in, the CPU usage was perfectly normal,
However after a couple of hours, the laptop went into power saving mode due to
inactivity and then when I resumed it,
ksoftirqd was back in action taking 80-90%

I am currently on an HP Pavilion dv6000 (AMD Turion 64x2,1 GB RAM, Broadcom
Wireless) and have the same problem,
ksoftirqd is eating almost 50% of the CPU, sometimes it even hits 90-99% making
it almost unusable...

I actually had never uninstalled powernowd just switched it of from the
services menu, and the keyboard freezes stopped, However now its already
been 3 days and no freezes as yet, earlier I used to have at least 3-4
keyboard freezes a day !!!

Same situation with me here as with Killeroid.
I have disabled powerond and ever since then no keyboard freezes.
I use Gnome and I almost never hit the Window + B key combination,
even nothing much happened even when I tried it.
I will re-enable my powerond and give my feed back soon.

Am having the same problem here too.
The keyboard just freezes of randomly and I need to do a reboot to get it
started again, Also could not find anything in /var/crash/ connected to this
freeze.
