Well disabling snd-usb-audio is not really a solution, one needs the
mic to work when on a video call. Also, I have only Adobe flash player

I have the same problem. The difference from OP is that the host is
Windows 7 and the guest is Ubuntu oneiric (x86_64) . The guest was
originally ubuntu natty and upgraded to oneiric.

@Harald I don't see any reason why its thought that users can cause
harm. If thats the case, even sudo should be removed. Bad excuse.
There's actually no harm in adding a feature that will let the user do
something more with the Kubuntu LiveCD at a price of maybe some KBs.

installed ubuntu 8.10 few days back. installed eclipse using
applicationsadd/remove. eclipse runs inspite of the error. i'm new to

I am also facing the same problem. But my laptop is HP Compaq nx6115. The sound
card is ATI IXP.
