Greedy was enabled for i965 chipset with Intel driver version
2:2.2.0.90-2ubuntu4 on 14 Feb 2008 so it should be Hardy Alpha 4. The

I can confirm this with Gutsy and current Hardy. Every time I enable the Nvidia
driver with the restricted manager I get a blank screen after restart but
system reacts normal and I hear the boot sound.

that still only gocr is installed but obviously not used. The configure script
of ogmrip has a point which one should be used or auto. Maybe auto doesn't work
or the gocr option is enabled.

I can confirm this. It happens with every CD/DVD which is inserted (even video
DVDs which aren't mounted). A file operation isn't needed.
I am not sure if it is a hal or a gnome-volume-manager issue. This doesn't
happen in Gutsy but in Hardy since some time and of course in current.

I am closing this bug report since there was no reply for a long time
and the i810 driver is deprecated and replaced through the new Intel
driver. Feel free to open it again if the issue still happens with Gutsy
and the -intel driver.

Please use the question thread. I guess your problem is already reported in Bug
#188178 and could be fixed through adding this line to your xorg.conf device
section:

So Hardy suspends and resumes fine on your laptop? If it works most of the time
and the false are covered through Bug #176377 I guess this one can be closed.
The suspend problems with the USB CD-Rom might be a kernel issue and should be
reported in a new bug report if you like.

be able to test the new -intel driver using the LiveCD. If you
