I can confirm this. I am not sure now which packages causes it but it is not an only compiz problem since it appears with the vesa driver too. I am going to test another desktop like fluxbox or something like that. I guess it has something to do with the gnome-settings-daemon or the panel. Linux

Another problem is gdm. I have moved the user direcotory and created a new one with write support but after this gdm doesn't login with this user. It just changes the password field back to username field. I guess I have to find/create another bug report for this but I guess it is worth
