I found that running the installation after exiting X (sudo service lightdm

You could try logging in as a different user?
You could also try removing all the nvidia drivers and using the noveau
driver.
In my case, using the nouveau driver with two 4K displays had a lot of
system pauses.

The problem seems to be only with certain USB controllers.
Problems with two different new Sony Vaio with USB3 controllers.

I have exactly the same problem.
I just tried to embed a PDF file in LibreOffice 3.6.1.2.
It eventually embedded, but not as an icon, and took about 5 minutes on a very
fast computer.
In Word, this is painless.
I often create documents which contain a lot of embedded files, pdf, code files
etc.
The driver that comes with Ubuntu, 11.10 or 12.04 doesn't seem to work very
well and is outdated.
Completely remove the Ubuntu supplied driver and install the v12.3
(3/28/2012) driver from

I am seeing similar issues with my SSD, lots of errors, but system seems to
run fine.
On my previous drive however, it started to run slowly, due to recovering
errors, and finally reported an error, so something funny is going on.

By setting File--Work Offline in Evolution, the problem went away.

When I try to pair under MacOS, a window comes up asking me to enter the
PIN, I enter and it pairs without any problem.

Running today's latest update as of an hour ago.
Same crash when re-starting X.
I have seen the same problem with defaulting to another window manager than
Gnome, but rebooting the computer seems to get around that.
I am using a MacBook Pro, V2 with the ATI graphics.

I would like the option of using GThumb.
I simply want to import the photos from my Canon Powershot G9 into a
directory, not part of a photo viewing system. I cannot find a way to do
this with F-Spot.

My Dell M50 laptop has an NVIDIA Quadro4 500 GoGL GPU. The restricted
driver manager installs the latest 1.0-9755 driver. X won't start with
this driver. nvidia-glx-legacy needs to be installed for this GPU. The
restricted driver manager should install the correct driver
I loaded Ubuntu 6.06LTS on my Medion MD95800
I am getting the same basic dbus/hal error.
It seems to have something to do with network manager or maybe a dhcpd
permission.
