platforms. My machine shuts down every time but FS doesn't unmount
cleanly. I added lsof to /etc/init.d/umountfs like this -

the machine after switching to closed-source Nvidia drivers through the

two test machines, neither will power down the monitor.
Both test machines are 2.8GHz P4 connected to the same monitor through a
KVM switch. Monitor is a Samsung 204BW.
