This could be a regression because my computer model was mentioned in
the alsa-driver changelog v1.0.22 to v1.0.23 (2.1.44 HDA codec driver).

I have not gotten sound through the speakers with either Lucid or
I get this exact bug summary affter the os reports a crash and serious
Kernel issue. However, the crash occurs after rebooting with no further
action by me. I do have radeon hardware and suspend and resume seems to
work.

I am the one who started the original post. To clarify the bug, I have added
camera photos using identical manual settings of the screens from Lucid
(radeon) and karmic (flgrx). Note that all images are of the same bootchart

I can no longer reproduce the bug. About a month ago I had to replace my
router and since that time I have not experienced the bug.
The replaced router, a Linksys WRT54GC with firmware 1.02.8, is non-functional.
The new router is a Linksys WRT54GL running (Linux) Tomato firmware 1.19. Both
I also have a Toshiba Protege 3500 tablet running Ubuntu Hardy Heron.
Not that it does anything good but by adding the following lines to the
screen section,
Option RandRRotation true
Option Rotate CW
xorg does seem to manipulate the screen after restarting.

In my case, this is a recurring bug. It happened since 7.10 even when
booting the Desktop AMD64 7.10 live cd. It happens more frequently maybe
(50/50) in Hardy especially in the my customized 2.6.25 kernel. I can
boot up if I disconnect from the network, however when
I did not see my attachment so I have added it again.
