Same experience on HP500 (p/n: RQ260AA#ACB), after opening lid system
performance become sluggish, cursor moves in small jumps, etc. vmstat
1 reports about 20% sy cpu usage with about 1500 context switches,

I'm not sure if this is already programmed into the Installation process
and I know nothing about programming or scripting.
A thorough checking process could be initialised after Ubuntu has been
installed. That is: it checks the integrity of

When Desktop effects are in use and Konversation is launched, the Server
List window appears as well.
The buttons on the Server List window are grayed-out and except for the
first button, the other buttons fail to work. Also, pressing X to

I fiddled around a little more and discovered that:
1) Disabling Desktop Effects while Konversation is running does not
enable the Server List Window to be closed.

Oh and I'm in WinXP now.
The Performance tab shows CPU Usage in the ranges of 0% to 5% most of
the time.

Oh and I actually reset my monitor settings because I uninstalled my
default graphics drivers. I'd to boot into REcovery mode and reset
xorg.conf
Anyways, even after I reconfigured xorg.conf , the problem was still
there.
