It shows me running 13.04. As I said, it's a phantom kernel and I have no idea why it works. If I boot normally, I get a black screen. Booting with advanced options and choosing the current kernel results in a normal display with wifi only connection. I have to turn off the eth0 or I lose my

I've been seeing the same problem with my main test desktop and the 3.8 kernels. Many times I could just reboot a few times and the connection would come up. But as of this morning I can't get the interface to come up in my desktop machine without using Francois's hack (thanks for that, BTW).
