From what I can see 2.10 has been packaged and is available in the
latest Ubuntu releases. (Only beta version in Ubuntu 14.04, but the
other ones look like stable releases) So I guess that means this bug can
be closed.

Several necessary libraries are not available in Debian, e.g.
jayatana (but also jersey etc.).

also presumed that a release would prefer stable versions over betas.
