This problem is unchanged in saucy. Checking automatically connect to VPN
breaks autoconnect feature of network-manager.
Please fix, it would really be useful.

I confirm this problem. Previously, when configuring the VPN connection,
there was a tick box autoconnect, which did not work at all (bug
280571). This has been replaced by a tick-box in the network
configuration dialog Automatically connect to VPN when using this
connection. Although this does

for 60 days.]

Could you please attach as a file, the full debug logs for
NetworkManager when you bring up the ethernet connection?
