Title:
Maybe the permissions are not set correctly for ~/.cache, so Firefox
cannot create the ~/.cache/mozilla directory. Assuming your username is
pico, try these commands:
sudo chown -R pico ~/.cache
sudo chgrp -R pico ~/.cache
sudo chmod 0700 ~/.cache

So, the thing is that I've removed everything from
~/.cache/mozilla/firefox/profileName/ and firefox starts ok. But when I
remove the (empty!!!) profile folder firefox refuses to start and says
it's unable to load profile.

On my system BleachBit deletes ~/.cache/mozilla too, but it doesn't
affect Firefox's ability to startup. I just tried it on another Ubuntu
system, and Firefox works OK after the directory is removed.
The purpose of storing the Firefox and other caches in one directory is

Did you restore ~/.cache or ~/.config?
I can't reproduce on Ubuntu 13.04 64-bit with Firefox 22 and BleachBit
0.9.6 using these command lines while FF is open and another time when
FF is closed
bleachbit --overwrite --clean system.cache firefox.*
bleachbit --clean system.cache firefox.*

It was closed. I've just reproduced the bug to get this screenshot.
Recreating the ~/.cache/mozilla folder doesn't help. I had to recover
from backup.

Was Firefox running or closed? Does Firefox give an error message? If
so, what is it? Does recreating the ~/.cache/mozilla folder resolve the
startup problem?
