@kylea the only way I found to reproduce this bug was to add any contact with a
phone number starting with a letter, like a123.
That triggers the problem for me every time. It's probably a bug in the fast
search widget.

@bfiller so, not sure what to do in that case. Even on android, if you have two
contacts, say Test1 and Test2, with same phone number (123456789) and you try
to call Test2 using the quick dialer in the dialer app, the live call screen
will show it as Test1.

I tried to repeat this and could not - I can confirm though that if two
contacts share the same phone number the first one to be assigned that
number is the one that gets selected in the New SMS form even if the
other contact is touched.
Guess that makes sense as only one person can have the

That maybe - however in this instance I believe it was because a contact
did not have any details other than a name - I then assigned the contact
to the contact whose details started to appear on every SMS.
I have subsequent deleted the contacts in Google and re-sync'ed them.
