I don't know if this is a solution to the problem, or if I'm just
avoiding the problem.
In following a different issue, I found that my computer has problems
with some programs and hyperthreading. If I have hyperthreading enabled
in the BIOS, firefox crashes, if I disable it, firefox doesn't

I think we need a test case to reproduce this crash. I've tried it by
setting the fonts to DejaVu Serif as suggests Rico and I'm not able to
reproduce the crash.

Ok, I can reproduce this. I am fully up to date with Gutsy Tribe 5 as of
September 5, 10:30 PM, Mountain Standard Time.
I moved my .mozilla folder aside and do the following:
1) Run firefox this way -- I can try another way if a dev prefers it
