i confirm this on gutsy and hardy, both 32 and 64 bit. my device works
good with ndiswrapper (NETGEAR WG111v2). The problem is that there's not
a 64 bit driver that is usable by ndiswrapper (it's in an un-extractable
.exe file). Let me know if you can help me.

Hello, ive been reading the thread, and i myself have a laptop with the
Realtek 8187 wireless adaptor. It gave me problems on Ubuntu Gutsy
Gibbon, last night i upgraded to Hardy Herring, and the problem improved
slighlty, bearing in mind i have WEP turned off. My connexion seems to
just stop

I'm using Ubuntu 8.04 right now, with 2.6.24-15-generic and the driver still
have the same issue.
I can ping the AP using iwconfig wlan0 rate 5.5M auto but the connection is
still bad even after this.

confirmed. i have rtl8187 too and hang on high traffic. then i do sudo
rrmod rtl8187 sleep 2s sudo modprobe rtl8187 this helps ;)
