Title:
utopic lubuntu insserv error
To manage
Comment #6 how do I tell what the version of dbus is?
I tried
update-rc.d dbus start 12 2 3 4 5 .
and a number of combinations.
Unity still does not start, only wallpaper.
Is there a start unity command?
Thanks.

Bugs,
Comment #6:
dbus exists.
It's marked executable.
I did
sudo ./dbus
and can't tell if anything happened?
I'll try the update command.

Well, I tried:
$ update-rc.d dbus start 12 2 3 4 5 .
now utopic boots to wallpaper. No unity.
Ctrl-Alt-Del gets a window about processes - the window flashes on and
off.
Any way to undu the update-rc.d dbus start 12 2 3 4 5
This is from 14.04. No big deal to zsync, mkusb, and re-install
What is the version number of the dbus package on your system?
Does /etc/init.d/dbus exist and is executable?
Does below command resolve the issue for you in configuring lightdm?
$ update-rc.d dbus start 12 2 3 4 5 .

No Unity yesterday 2014 0725 after update to 3.16.0-5-generic
#10-Ubuntu. Just wallpaper.
Booted in recovery, enabled network, did apt-get update dist-upgrade
no help.
No Unity today 20140726 did recovery mode network apt-get update dist-
upgrade Unity did start run.
A bit buggy, single
Reboot failed. Stuck on the screen with the logo Lubuntu and the
circling dots.
Reboot in recovery mode, failed, similar message as in the bug
description.
Lubuntu utopic partition is essentially dead. After the daily update
changes I'll try again.

I think dbus is fixed now, but there may be some other stragglers in
progress. Dimitri has been working on these.
This has nothing to do with ubiquity, though.
