I have the same issue. Did exactly what lmanickum mentioned and it's clear that anything written in xpdfrc is ignored, no matter where it's located. A bit annoying. I just spent 3 hours fiddling with the config file in the hope of changing the default papercolor... -- You received this bug notif

The bug: $HOME/.xpdfrc was being ignored, and xresources were being ignored and c/line args were being ignored. This Worked For Me As Follows(tm). First, you need to determine *which* files are being read by xpdf. I ran xpdf (no arguments) in strace and redirected all output to a file: $ st
