Note that the modules rt73usb and rt2500usb should not *both* be loading. Try removing both modules, and then loading *only* rt73usb: sudo rmmod rt73usb rt2500usb sudo modprobe rt73usb If that works for you, you can then add rt2500usb to /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist to ensure it doesn't load in

Well problem is I had this bug and I tried various fixes. In the end I think it is something to do with the wireless config not the kernel. For me this bug was fixed by chance. I had it that if I used the live cd then I'd get a connection but if I installed then I could not connect. In fact by

My Belkin rt73 usb stick worked fine (out of the box) for a good while (in Gutsy tribe) until 3-4 weeks ago, now no longer works. The 'Wireless connection' still appears in NM with the correct settings, but the device does not even blink. -- Wi-Fi rt73 USB (TP-Link TL-WN321G) doesn't connect
