I upgraded from Xubuntu 7.04 to 7.10 and the Fn key combos on my Toshiba Satellite L40-12K stopped working, including the brightness adjusting ones. Also Xfce's Ctrl+Esc shortcut doesn't work now, it works maybe once in 20 tries. This is also the case with a fresh install of Xubuntu 7.10. --

Hm. Maybe it has to to something with the display drivers? Because there is a tool called 'radeontool' which claims to be a 'utility to control backlight on radeon based laptops'. I can turn the backlight completely off with that tool, but cannot dim it. Dimming for me only works with 'echo -n 62
