Thanks for submitting this bug report. I believe you are using Unity 8
in LXC. The LXC uses a network bridge to however the host has the
network setup. So if you have Wifi access at the LightDM

Oh, what packages are you trying to install? Is is from the Ubuntu
Software Store? If so, then it known that this does not work in the
desktop:(
