I don't have more than one device mounted to the same directory. I just have my
external hard drive always being displayed in a Nautilus application window

I have installed hardy in a test partition and I don't have problems
with ubiquity if I run with everything already mounted, but it does
produce problems if nothing but the root directory is
,nosuid,nodev,uhelper=hal,shortname=mixed,uid=1000,utf8,umask=077,flush)

against hardy pre-release. I'm not having a problem with gutsy.

By default (choosing manual partitioning) the nfts drive is marked with fs=ntfs
and mountpoint=/media/sdaX, the fat drive is marked with fs=fat32 and
mountpoint=/media/sdaY
This setup will hang.
I tried (new boot from CD) changing the fs mark on the ntfs
By mark I mean do not check the box next to the NTFS, or edit the partition all
call it /windows.
That is what worked for me. When i rebooted Gutsy my /windows partiton was
recognized as /sda1.

As a workaround I ran ubiquity --no-migration-assistant in a terminal
window instead of using the desktop install launcher. The installation
succeeded although without migration assistant.
I've got some time and empty partitions. I would be happy to try
additional installs.

Can you please run the installer using the --debug option (`ubiquity --debug`
in a console window), then attach /var/log/syslog and /var/log/installer/debug
to this bug report? When you say freezes, I'm assuming you mean that the
installer is stopping at the migrate documents and
That's correct. I get a busy pointer after trying to proceed beyond the
migration screen, which never goes away. There is no installation of
Vista on the drive, just XP (one partition is NTFS).

icon, it goes past the stalling screen without a problem - I have tried
this twice. I rebooted and tried the standard way of installing again
and it froze in the same place (that's now four attempts with the same
