Hardy Alpha3 LiveCD and with the Gutsy X86_64 LiveCD.
By the way, I am now using using the 2.6.24-386 Zen Kernel [1] because I
had some trouble waking from standby with 2.6.22-14-386. With the Zen-

Interesting that the problem is fixed in 2.6.22-14-386 but exists in
2.6.22-14-generic #1 SMP.
Can you retest with Hardy Alpha3 when it comes out in the next day or
two and report if the bug still exists? Also,
Same here with a HP 2510p running 7.10. It doesn't happen every time I
close the lid though, only about every fourth time.
The system completely locks up and the caps lock led is on. The system
does not react to pings and open ssh-sessions break, so it isn't just X
breaking.

Followup to the last entry: I just switched to the text-console using
ctrl-alt-F1 after booting and tried closing and opening the lid multiple
times. I got the system to freeze after a few tries (opening and closing
the lid about 10 times). I hard rebooted and tried the same thing again,
