rt61 doesn't work in gutsy (worked in feisty)
In the event that you still have access to this card it would be helpful
if you were to include the following information in your bug report.
Please include as attachments the following additional information, if you have
not already done so (please pay attention to lspci's additional options),
The user took the card out of their machine and threw it away since they
had no need for it under Windows (a linksys card worked fine) and gave
up on Linux.
My preferred solution for this problem is to tell me what wireless PCI
card I can buy at Frys that Ubuntu correctly/officially supports and
That ticket is for people who actually got the gutsy driver to work and
then had it flake out on them. I couldn't even get the gutsy one to
work at all, let alone have it work long enough to be flaky.
Ultimately the user I was helping decided that Linux sucked and went
back to Windows,

It turns out that the rt61 has several open source drivers (in fact it
appears to only have open source drivers). I tried several others
including two different ones from SerialMonkey and one from Ralink
themselves. I couldn't get any working with WPA.
It is annoying that Gutsy broke something
