if 'automatic' works and 'manual' does not, then it can be:
- 'space/shift' added (and not expected) or missing
- the keyboard config does not
It's completely stucked, dead as a rock, no response on anything.

system freezes on IPv6 manual configuration
To manage notifications
thank you for your bug report, if the system freezes then there is an
issue with some low level component and it's not a gnome-control-center
issue. Do you get specific syslog entry when getting the problem? Can
you go to a vt or is the system really stucked (could be a kernel bug in
this case)?
Today I upgraded my distro to Ubuntu 17.10.
Problem is still the same, set IPv6 to manual and your system freeze.
