Thanks for the glxinfo.txt in comment #5. That confirms at least the
lack of GPU support is bug 1823516 (newer, but I think better
described).

To try the new support for EGLStreams and Wayland I have directly tried some
programs to see how this performs. Unfortunately there are multiple problems:
Chrome does not use GPU hardware acceleration anymore (I get huge CPU spikes
while scrolling on normal pages).

nvidia-settings gives me an empty program.

days:
This is after installing the mutter builds:
