I have this bug, or a similar one, in Intrepid Ibex.
When I add a location and type my town's name (which doesn't show in the
proposed locations list), then type in the coordinates and choose the timezone,
the weather simply doesn't show.
When I first select a nearby location from the proposed

I just had similar problem. My town (Latvia - Ventspils) isn't included
in that timezone list, so I tried to set the latitude and longitude
manually, but I muff them and after save weather was wrong. So I opened
it for editing and corrected the data, but after save nothing changed. I
tried to
I'm still not sure to understand the issue? How did you enter a location
if that's not using this dialog?

Ah ok, you typed a name and selected a timezone and validated most
likely, right that's confusing

Yes, the usability could be considered a mild problem. The solution was
simple, but rather non-obvious to me and I have been using Linux for 9
years now.

Sebastien,
To be fair the new configuration for the locations confused me back when
it first went into Hardy so it probably could use some usability
improvement. The fact you can type in a name without using 'Find' to set
the actual location to get the weather information from probably should
be
Thank you for your bug report. You consider using the timezone you
choose as wrong? What else would you expect there?

Can't
You don't understand. The time zone I am allowed to choose is Rainy
River. That's fine for the time. But the longitude and latitude for my
location I chose by hand. Yet I am not allowed to choose from where I
get the weather information. The weather applet just appeared after I
updated the system
the description is not clear no, could you describe steps to trigger the
issue?

I updated my PC with sudo apt-get update then upgraded. Then an addition
the to the time in the upper right of the default GNOME desktop showed
up which specified the weather . . . sky conditions (sunny/cloudy/etc.)
and the temperature. This weather data was incorrect. I clocked on the
time applet
did you send the screenshot to show the temperature displayed there? why
don't you use the nearest location there? the temperature can't be
guessed using to coordinate, it uses the weather report from airports,
etc, that's why you need to use a location in the list if you want to
get correct
I don't see a location in my time zone in the drop down list that that
shows my local time other than Rainy River . . . I am in Louisiana, but
don't see an entry for that. Any way I can disable the weather if I
can't get the right time?
Thanks anyway.
