I've same issue: Asus Aspire 5520 laptop hangs right after pairing and
keyboard light blinks.
I'm running 8.04.1 AMD64 and I've system updated to latest.
This happens with a Silicon Wave USB bluetotth adapter (I think it has a
Broadcom 2035 chipset, not sure).
I can provide any info you need
No change here: Hardy still freezes just after pairing, regardless of
which device I use to initiate the pairing. Some times the device shows
up in the list of bonded devices after reboot, some times not.

Well, sort of: Just tried it two times, and got a kernel panic both times,
right after I enter the pass code on the laptop and the Bonding established
popup notification showed up :-(
However, after a reboot the phone is now in the list of bonded devices
and I can send data from the laptop to
Got it, too. The order of events is:
1) Switch on Bluetooth on my Thinkpad X40 -- Bluetooth icon shows up
2) Intiate pairing from my cell phone (BenqSiemens EF81)
3) Confirm the passcode on the laptop
4) The new device shows up in the trusted list in the bluetooth preferences
window
and in
Is there anything we could easily do to find out where it is hanging?

This happens to me as well: Ubuntu Hardy freezes just after pairing with
my T610. The last lines in sylog are:
hcid[8380]: pin_code_request (sba=00:04:61:81:DD:58, dba=00:0E:07:45:7A:CF)
hcid[8380]: link_key_notify (sba=00:04:61:81:DD:58, dba=00:0E:07:45:7A:CF)
NetworkManager: debug
If I establish the connection through Ubuntu instead of sending the file
from the cellphone, and then using nautilus browse the cellphone files
and copy them to the desktop everything works fine.
Does this happens with you too?
If necessary I'll post my dmesg output.

This happens to me as well. I believe it happens right at the beginning
of the file transfer. I didn't notice my keyboard lights flashing, but
the computer was definitely locked as my sound card started looping the
buffer.
I was able to reproduce the 2 of 2 times I tried. I didn't see anything
nope not same...
My computer hangs right after entering the passkey on the phone then the
computer. the phone continues on with security question, and I accept the
connection. This is when the computer hangs. Everything frozen!

Does this happen after pairing or after attempting to transfer a file? I
just made a report about my desktop crashing after pairing. I think i
made a duplicate .
