I have tried to reproduce the problem, but could not do so. What version
of lintian do you use? Please provide the sources for the openembedded
package for testing.

This is not dependent on any particular package. Just try and do a
release for hardy. Pick any of the hardy packages from my PPA
(https://launchpad.net/~r0lf/+archive)
