Quite obviously you have an issue with firefox (this is not under the main
control of the ubuntu dev team).
It is most probably caused by a plugin you have running and nothing to do with
Ubuntu at its core, disable your plugins and see if that helps then complain to

man i just started getting this all the time now. I do have some PPA's
pinned lower than 500 but otherwise i'm stock xubuntu 8.10
that png address above crashes me too. Other sites seem to do it after
5-10 mins of surfing.

Well, I don't remenber what web-page, but a segmentation fail says that
a pointer try to aim to a occupied memory direction. Thus the fail comes
from the web browser not from a specific web-page.

I too get lots crashes when I open a video clip even on BBC.co.uk It
just closes down Firefox and when I restart Firefox it asks me if I wish
to resume? I take the resume option and the clip plays without a
problem. What the difference is between the first time and the second
time I don't know.

My mozilla doesn't crash anywhere i go, it crashes when Internet/Ethernet is

Any Phoronix news story now crashes Firefox for me. I didn't upgrade
firefox or do anything that I know of, but it crashes 100% of the time
now.

I get frequent crashes as well, which may be related. It mostly happens
when browsing to http://www.telegraaf.nl

Installed swfdec-mozilla.
Removed flash-plugin-nonfree (presumably theadobe flash you refer to?).
Firefox still crashes!

Yes, flash is always a possible crasher. maybe ask if he uses flash
and if uninstalling helps
