- I recently upgraded my video card from an nvidia GeForce2MX64 w/32MB
This is not a bug in the NVIDIA driver. Type the following command:
sudo apt-get install python-opengl python-gtkglext1
then launch gnuchess again and the 3d mode will work.
gnuchess should at least suggest the installation of python-opengl
python-gtkglext1 . I'll change the subject of this repor

Another clue - when I attempt to play Gnu Chess in 3D mode I get the
following error:
Unable to enable 3D mode
You are unable to play in 3D mode due to the following problems:
No Python OpenGL support
No Python GTKGLExt support
