same here:
Aug 1 05:45:13 my-laptop kernel: [ 7745.301023] gdm[5305]: segfault at

no keytouch installed, hardy heron 32 bit.
This happened once when hitting the show desktop button in lower left
pane, but it has happened other times too.

I have similar problems.
I haven't keytouch installed.
I try with Ubuntu 8.04; 8.04.1 and Linux Mint Elyssa: all of them seems have
the same related Segfault Gdm Bug.
My PC is an laptop Acer Aspire 1350, Athlon-XP-M 2200 +, 1Gb Ram, 20Gb Hdd.
Currently, I am using XDM manager; but without menu
I'm getting similar segfaults from GDM with similar or the same lock up
results. I do not have keytouch installed. I am using Hardy x86.

I have resolved my problem, it's a bug with Keytouch 2.3, Install
Keytouch 2.4 or uninstall 2.3 to resolve this problême

Actually, the crashes I saw in my system log weren't related to the
xorg/intel crashes I'm having. I believe it was crashing on exit, which
the recently released update to gdm fixes.

I've been having this problem as well on Hardy i386. It actually seems
to be related somehow to the driver (or maybe screen resolution) that
I'm running - gdm consistently segfaults when it loads when I use the
intel xorg driver (with a Q965 chipset) whereas it works fine with the
i810 driver
