Im using 2.6.27-generic and did a update-manager -d (however aborted directly because packages could not be retrieved) now the sound is gone. I just started the computer and wanted to listen to some radio, now it killed the radio and the time. Here's also my output of alsa-info.sh

After a dist-upgrade, simply clicking a WAV file caused X to crash. Sound was also dropping as indicated above. However, I also experienced sound loss from a fresh installation of Intrepid Ibex. Might suggest modifying the summary to remove the after dist-upgrade clause. The solution in comment
