Hi Leann, I just upgraded my kernel to the most recent version
(2.6.27.9) and launched a little test. I have to say, I do not have any
problems with network file transfer, but I tested files 50MB over
Internet. I do not have the possibility to test the transfer of larger
files, especially larger
Damian, can you comment if this has regressed for you?
Jay, It would probably be better if you would open a separate bug report
for now as Damian (the original bug reporter) has commented this is no
longer an issue with Intrepid so you may be experiencing a slightly
different bug that would
Hi. I have upgraded to the most recent kernel available to me (2.6.27.9)
and the problem still persists. Transferring a large file 2 GB pretty
much always fails, but synchronizing two dirs with 10.000 files is
also bound to fail. (Transfers made over SSH, via Krusader, FISH
protocol)

Thanks for all the testing and the updates. I'm tentatively marking
this Fix Released for Intrepid. If you see any regressions regarding
this issue prior to Intrepid's final release, please feel free to reopen
this by setting the status back to New. Thanks.

I have installed new 2.6.27.x kernel from Interpid repository (package
linux-image-2.6.27-2-server_2.6.27-2.3_i386.deb) and I haven't any
problems with uploading or downloading files via network. Like with
previously tested 2.6.26.x kernel line all works fine, so I am waiting
for Interpid final
The Ubuntu Kernel Team is planning to move to the 2.6.27 kernel for the
upcoming Intrepid Ibex 8.10 release. As a result, the kernel team would
appreciate it if you could please test this newer 2.6.27 Ubuntu kernel.
There are one of two ways you should be able to test:
1) If you are comfortable
I just finished testing kernels from 2.6.22.x (2.6.22-14.52) and
2.6.26.x (2.6.26-5.14) lines. All of them works fine. I don't have any
problems with downloading files. It seems that the problem occurs only
in the 2.6.24.x kernel line.

Network file transfer stalled
Just that one file transfer is stalled. The whole internet connection
works fine. I can for example login to server using ssh on another
terminal without any problem.
Yes, my attached dmesg output cover a time period when stall happened. I
know there are no logs concern that issue.
I attached to
Is you whole internet connection stalled or is just the one file
transfer? Additionally, does the output of dmesg that you attached
cover a time period when the stall happened? If not could you add dmesg
after the stall occurs? Thanks again.
