As to the USB modem, that hardware isn't supported in Hardy, sorry. I
saw your question about it. It'll be supported in Intrepid, which will
be released in October.

Thanks..I know it's supported in Intrepid slated for Oct. 30 release and
isn't being backported to Hardy. I am trying to configure it manually
though like I had to do Mom's serial modem. It's to bad Hardy is no
longer supported. I really like it and thought it would have long term
support. My
Hardy is supported, but that hardware is not supported in Hardy, get it?
Ubuntu has fairly strict rules regarding backports for stability
reasons. If they backport too much stuff, it won't be stable
(unchanging) and could easily cause regressions (break more things for

Sounds strange, try updating transmission to the latest version (1.33)
and see if the problem remains.

You can close this now...I terminated the original torrent download and
redid it...it downloaded beautifully in less that 1 hour! For some
reason the first attempt must have gotten corrupted...thank you very
much...cheryl
know anything about getting the novatel usb 727 modem (wifi) to work in

one...Downloaded beautifully the 2nd time in less that 1 hour! awesome
download! So you can retire this problem..It must have been a fluke or
