workaround: ath_hal is causing the problem, reloading it helps
# modprobe -r ath_pci ath_rate_sample ath_hal
# modprobe ath_hal; modprobe ath_pci; modprobe ath_rate_sample
... should be done automatically on acpi events, but i havn t figured out how
to do that...

I have same problem with final version of 8.10. My laptop is MSI MegaBook S271.
This functionality worked without any problem in 8.04.
