This happens when you copy a very large piece of text. It would be nice
if parcellite had a limit on the size of history items.

This happens to me every now and then, too. Ubuntu 10.10, clean install
two weeks ago, using medium wm eye candy. I notice that esp. when
using oocalc (OpenOffice spreadsheet) and playing around
selecting/dragging/dropping/etc blocks of cells, parcellite starts
hogging the CPU for ~5 secs every
this bug has haunted me in ubuntu 9.10, 10.04 and 10.10 . It happens
randomly. I press the hotkey for parcellite (ctrl+alt+h) and it does not
appear. In # top parcellite is at 99.9% cpu . I just pkill parcellite,
start it again and press right click-preferences, uncheck the Save
History and click
forgot to mention that I run on a SSD, fresh install, so it is not a io
issue.

I have the same problem as Jon, with more or less the same setup (kernel is
2.6.27-11-generic).
Very annoying.
Can someone make Parcellite 0.9-1 available in Intrepid-proposed or
intrepid-backports?

I can not reproduce this here. A new version, 0.9-1, has been released
and uploaded to Debian Unstable and Ubuntu Jaunty. I have backported
this package to both Hardy (8.04 LTS) and Intrepid (8.10) in my PPA.
Could you please try the package there and see if your issue continues?
