update-manager may display a different kind of error when going to install
(kernel) updates i.e. new kernel(s): https://i.stack.imgur.com/DppOi.png
The actions suggested by the dialog (i.e. emptying trash and running 'sudo
apt-get clean' do not help, if /boot is in a separate partition. 'sudo
About adding a retry button to the free space check there is another bug
reported, bug #154236, so this bug is only about adding some options to free up
some disk space.

Personally, I don't need the upgrader to perform file-deleting operations for
me,
all I want it to have a RETRY button that checks the condition again that leaded
to that error -- and if the condition is not true anymore (because I deleted
stuff),
