I am on Jaunty, using KDE 4.2.4 via the ppa repositories. This bug is is
still there for me. Checking/unchecking the edit profile item show
menubar in new windows has no effect for me either.

Someone mentioned (in a duplicate bug report here on launchpad) that
checking/unchecking the edit profile item show menubar in new windows
and then hitting Apply will work around this issue.
I have tried that and it does NOT work on my installation. I just
upgraded to Ubuntu Intrepid.
No, I guess the back-scrolling thing is different. It happens all the
time. (using scroll wheel on mouse)
