The final release of Intrepid Ibex 8.10 came out at the end of last month (Oct 30) - http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download . And yes it contains a 2.6.27 based kernel - 2.6.27-7.16 . You really don't need to install Intrepid to test it on your laptop, just run a LiveCD. That will give you a
