KDE Frameworks 5.18.0,
Qt 5.5.1 (build v. 5.5.1),
Uses window system xcb.
I'm using gnome-session-flashback & compiz decorator.
strace shows while idle fast repeating flood:

That's quite old; report with newer active version if needed

The same to me. I have tried the binaries for Ubuntu 8.10 and compiling
from svn with the wizard (both from kdenlive.org) with no success.
In both cases kdenlive starts but after this, without doing anything the
cpu is working at 30%. Changing the focus to another window the cpu
becomes idle. I

I've downloaded the Builder Wizward from kdenlogve.org which downloads
and builds the newest SVN version. This version of kdenlive hasn't got
the problem described above, so i is very likely that something went
wrong on packaging or this bug was resolved in the SVN version.
