However, we can provide a mapping for those in acpi-support.
Well, no, we can't. Reassigning to the kernel package, this needs to be
fixed in the laptop module.

Toshiba Tecra M7 missing mappings
Ah, so if the keys only emit ACPI events, that's eventually a kernel
bug, which should translate those to key events.
However, we can provide a mapping for those in acpi-support. Can you
confirm that you get the same ACPI events on current Jaunty?

Retesting on the most up to date intrepid kernel, it seems I'm wrong
about this being a regression from Intrepid. The failure mode is a bit
different in Intrepid. Lock doesn't show up in input-events, but rather
acpi-listen as in the following:
jldug...@jldugger-tablet:~$ acpi_listen
lhkey

Sure, that's perfect :)

You received this bug notification because you are
Fn produces nothing on its own. This laptop keyboard layout is
strange, and the Fn key is where one might normally expect a Windows
key. I should probably note that this is a regression from Intrepid.

Justin,
any chance to boot an intrepid live CD and comparing whether input-
events shows the same result?
I'm afraid hal-info can't merge a KEY_META and KEY+L into a KEY_LOCK
keypress, it can only emit setkeycode events. This might be a regression
in the toshiba_acpi module.

What did you do exactly for Lock screen press? Was this Ctrl+Alt+L?
I pressed Fn+F1.
As for the others, I did follow those exact steps. There is no ACPI
event or input event associated with them. As I understand it, the
kernel team decided to rewrite the Toshiba ACPI kernel module.

Thanks. So if Fn+F1 produces neither an ACPI nor a key event, this needs
to get fixed in the kernel.

Justin, please confirm that pressing _just_ Fn+F1 in input-utils
produces KEY_LEFTMETA and KEY_L (which sounds much more like Windows+L,
not Fn+F1). Does pressing Fn alone already trigger an event?

For the several other keys fail, can you please do the steps in
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Hotkeys/Troubleshooting to find out how the
keymap in hal-info should be done? We need a scan code - key symbol
mapping, e. g. 130 -

Subscribed, but unassigning; I may not be the person to do the actual
implementation yet, I'll have to talk to pitti to confirm exactly how
this should go into hal-info.
