Can you also check to make sure that there is nothing in /media that
would be your drive. If you don't see anything open up a terminal and
type df -h and see if your drive is listed on the bottom of that, if
you do, it will tell you where its mounted on the right hand side. If
you don't see
I've tried all of your suggestions and the results are shown below.
There doesn't seem to be anything relevant in /media. I don't know what
sdb1 is, but it's there right after boot with no CF card plugged it so
it probably isn't relevant to this issue. I checked with lsusb that the
CF adapter
OK, here's the info you requested. (Slightly different numbers today
because I'm using a ByteStor 256MB CF card instead of a 1GB card, but
the problem is the same: no icon on desktop, no sdb in gparted.)
