It fixes the bug for me, now it needs some testing and feedback from
others.
It can be easily tested by installing the PPA package and starting
conduit in the usual way. If the fix works, the user should see the
menus in his/her language -provided that there is a translation.

I'm intereted to see if the translation bug is fixed with this, It
should be a good candidate for a bug fix upload in Ubuntu.

I have created an Intrepid package which solves this bug in my PPA:
