I have no contribution to this bug description, but I do have an a900
and i don't understand why this bug isn't even assigned to anybody who
can try to solve it. There seems to be put great effort in boot-up time,
but that doesn't bother me the least if I can just use suspend...

@^_Pepe_^
I have access to the machine for a couple of days and just done a clean
install of 9.10 and applied all updates prior to submitting the above
via your suggested command. I am happy to try what ever to diagnose.
It is still the case that the first suspend resume from power up work,
but
Thanks.

[Hewlett-Packard Compaq Presario A900 Notebook PC] suspend/resume failure
@^_Pepe_^
Thanks, I have also just followed the procedure detailed at:-
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingKernelSuspend
But all I got from the resulting dmesg of the boot just after hung resume was:-
[1.720539] Magic number: 0:291:348
[1.720542] hash matches
This bug does seem very similar to #234519 Compaq Presario C700 series
(C756CA) always freezes the second time when resuming from Suspend to
RAM

not help.

This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in
it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try
with the latest Karmic 9.10 release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are
available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ .
If the issue remains, could you run
I can confirm that at least with a live boot cd of 9.10 this situation
still exists in both 32bit and 64bit, but as before I only have limited
access to this machine. I will attempt to get hold of it again and
install 9.10 so that I can try your suggestion. Thank you for your
attention in this
@Philip,
I would be more convenient to update to last karmic kernel.
Thanks in advance.

I can confirm something similar (as no evidence of kernel oops)
Have just installed 9.04 (32bit) on a Compaq A900 (A975EM) and although
it appears to suspend and resume fine the first time. The second time
it appears to suspend but does not resume. This is with all standard
updates applied as
