Not a b43-fwcutter bug. If you want to report bugs against the b43 and b43legacy
driver please use the linux package.
But this seems more like a Restricted Drivers Manager issue - did you activate
the b43legacy driver manually or was it chosen automatically by the system?

Disregard my post above. I'm using the b43legacy driver and it is
working for me now at normal speeds. Maybe uninstalling ndiswrapper
made it work, but it's very hard to tell why it is working now.

I found a quazi workaround.
Install ndiswrapper using Build Install.
Reboot
Activate b43legacy under Hardware Manager
Reboot
This made so I could connect to open networks at full speed. There is
no encryption support however. So far I have not been able to get the
encryption working with ndi
i can confirm this bug with a HP Pavilion dv5276eu (dv5000) and ubuntu
9.04 alias Jaunty (32 bit version).
I also have a Broadcom 4306 (rev2) wireless.
The maximum speed is 1 mbit
