I tried the commands, but here's the output:
k...@jaguar:~$ sudo ifdown eth0
[sudo] password for kurt:
ifdown: interface eth0 not configured
k...@jaguar:~$ sudo ifup eth0
Ignoring unknown interface eth0=eth0.

I didn't know if I needed to be wired for it to work. If so, what's

the problem is that if you configure your network in
/etc/network/interfaces you opt-out using network-manager.
Concrete, this means you manage your networking using the ifupdown
utilities.
If you want to use NetworkManager, remove all configuration from
/etc/network/interfaces.
If you still
Well, Kurt
there is your answer.
However, as Alexander has said, if the ifup ethN commands dont work
to start the ethN links after you haver returned from hibernate/suspend then

Dont run apport-collect as sudo, it should allow anyone to execute it
as root w/o sudo, and then it might work. Let me know here in the

We will have to let the network-manager developers handle the problem.
However, I think you might be able to execute the following commands from
a terminal window and it may restore the wired interface for you
after you have returned from suspsend/hibernate
sudo ifdown eth0
sudo ifup eth0
eth0
I left th entry there but changed the IP address. I also tried again to
submit info via launchpad and here's the results:

Please remove the entry in the interfaces that is not active if it came
along for the ride after the update.
Also you should have had a verification browser window opening up automatically
and after you
verified, return to the apport-collect window and you should be able to select

I looked at your interfaces file and it appears that both
wireless interfaces have the same address.
That wont work well so would you reassign one of them
to different host ip address (last octet 206 or 206
and reboot and lets see what network GUI functionality you have then.
BTW for network
Also, please run the following command after you make the suggested
changes if you are still having problems with the the network GUI

The only reason there are two wireless interfaces in there is because I
used to have a different card. When I switched, the old one came along
for the ride.
