This bug was opened about 6 months ago. Now I have moved to 9.10. I do
not even remember this bug. And I have not encountered anything similar
in 9.10. So I removed myself from affected list, since I can not really
help in solving this bug anymore.

Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been

My problem seems to be with apt-get and dpkg. I have a SATA II drive
and I cannot download and install or upgrade any packages - they give
var/cache/apt/archives errors and even if I manage to download the .deb
file successfully the installer will throw up errors. Copying files,
and install from
