Can confirm that the x86 version works with no issues using the latest
SiS163u Windows XP driver. It would seem it is the x64 version / driver
causing the issues - this is in line with previous releases of Ubuntu on
the Amilo Li1818 - the x64 version always has issues with the SiS163u
card.

I'm also getting this exact issue on a Fujitsu Li1818 with the SiS163u
card. With the card off it works perfectly, enable the kill switch for
the wifi and it will connect to the local WLAN and then freeze, coming
back for a few seconds at a time but essentially being useless.
I'm using the x64 ve
I installed ndiswrapper-source and ndiswrapper-utils 1.8-0ubuntu2, but
it doesn't work. Kernel module is loaded, ndiswrapper -l says driver is
installed and device is present, but network-manager doesn't see any
wireless networks.

As I remember, ndiswrapper used to hang on Jaunty too, but it didn't
hang in Intrepid. I will try to install one of this versions now and see
what'll happen.

I also have a Fujitsu Siemens Amilo (I think 1818). The WiFi card is a Fujitsu
Siemens D2301 WLAN.
ndiswrapper worked fine in jaunty. I kept my jaunty partition as a backup.
Since upgrading to lucid it won't work.
I've reinstalled ndiswrapper and recreated the /etc/ndiswrapper/ config.

Maybe my wifi card doesn't work?
On Fujitsu site I read that I must have two cards -- IPW3945 and WLAN miniCard
D2301, and now I use D2301 driver (driver for 3945, also .sys), didn't work in
Ubuntu.

It looks like it won't work with the Intel driver.
Can you also run the following commands and attach their output files?
1) uname -a > uname-a.log
2) sudo lspci -vvnn > lspci-vvnn.log
3) sudo lsusb -v > lsusb.log

Linux identifies this wlan card as needing sis163u driver. The same is said on

Now I use Ubuntu Lucid beta 2 (kernel 2.6.32-19, ndiswrapper 1.54-2). My
WiFi chipset is Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG integrated WLAN. System
freezes every fourth time during boot. Ndiswrapper kernel module is not
in /etc/modules, if I enable it, situation does not change.

For me:
Fujitsu-Siemens Li1818
System used to freeze every second time when I used Jaunty, but in Lucid and
Karmic it appears rarely. When it appears during boot in recovery mode, the
message 'CPU #0 stuck for 61 second, it is a bug' (or smth like) is displayed.

Can you give us more information about your issue?
What hardware do you have?
What wifi chipset does your card have?
Can you test the latest development version of Ubuntu 10.04?
