Those are not the issues being reported. This bug is with regard to no
white ubuntu logo on startup.
Like I said before, the spew is largely irrelevant
Any news on how to set the resolution of the initial white logo splash?

Neither have any output that is out of the ordinary.
Upon some more investigation, the splash attempts to set 1024x768x16. I
am unsure if my framebuffer can support that on boot.
Is there any way to change the default res that usplash / the first
splash sets to? Perhaps a cheat code for upslash /
It would be helpful if you were to include information about the exact
messages you see when booting up. This can be done by "check[ing] vt1
or dmesg output for copies of these messages. We also accept photos or
video attachments if that's easier, however please make sure the text is
readable."
My system that displays this bug is 1440 x 900. Same symptoms -- and I
get the fadeout, white ubuntu logo on shutdown. Real bad resolution.
Perhaps the FB can not handle non "standard" resolutions.

Could be or the framebuffer and possible lots of other things. My
display is 1280x800.
I've tried it with and without the 'nolapic_timer' option.

I have tried this on all my hardware. I can confirm this bug.
I have a hunch it's the max screen res size. Neil, any ideas on this?
