I have this problem after waking machine from suspend. If I restart my
system, then everything works as i
I have updated the system to the latest Ubuntu software packages using
synaptic.
Now:
- the selftest to switch to vt works fine
- the cycling through all supported display resolution works fine
- switching to vt using Ctrl+Alt+F1 works fine
- switching from vt to desktop using Ctrl+Alt+F7 works fi

I have tried switching to vt using Ctrl+Alt+F1 and switching back with
Ctrl+Alt+F7.
After switching to the console as described above, I did not see the
