options snd slots=snd-hda-intel
options snd-hda-intel model=hp-m4
alias snd-card-0 snd-hda-intel
options snd-hda-intel enable_msi=1

Hello,
10x for your reply! I actually tried that, as well as several other snd
models, and none of it worked on my machine with the version of ALSA
supplied with 9.10. Maybe there are differences between all those CQ61
models which are bigger than just the amount of memory, processor, etc.
copy these lines to /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf
options snd slots=snd-hda-intel
options snd-hda-intel model=hp-m4
alias snd-card-0 snd-hda-intel
options snd-hda-intel enable_msi=1
and restart the system and please tell me if it works! For my CQ61-125EQ
works ;)
